Liv Lives!
To all my fans, I apologize for my extended absence from Liv In The City… I know you were all very worried.
Sometimes, folks, life happens. But you all know that.
And never fear! I am alive and well! Or, well enough! But we’re not going to get into that.
Over the 11 months that I have neglected this site, plenty has happened. We’re at war now, which is lovely. But again, I don’t like to get too political on here.
I moved to a new apartment on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. I am my only roommate, and life is amazing. I live a mere block from the holy land, Barnes & Noble, which is a blessing and a curse. My desk wobbles with each letter I type—thanks, Walmart—but otherwise, the place is pretty sturdy. I have three vases of LEGO flowers; what else could a girl want?
Once again, I have watched all ten Best Picture nominees for this Sunday’s Oscars ceremony. I have opinions. I plan on another installment here early next week, reflecting on the evening.
I am #blessed to still have a job in this crappy market. Friends have come and gone from the agency, but I remain, steadfast and true.
And I finished the manuscript of my first novel! In a month or so, after some more revisions, I plan on beginning the agent querying process. It’s the next step on a long journey, but as soon as there is a book to pre-order, you will be hearing about it. Don’t hold your breath.
I’ve been outpacing this year’s reading goal already, which includes my foray into Dungeon Crawler Carl. IYKYK.
I’ve been spending way too much time on TikTok. But there is something special about scrolling at the point of late-night exhaustion, when even the stupidest things are laugh-out-loud funny. Delirium is nice, sometimes.
I went on a lovely trip to Savannah and Charleston with my mom and sisters. And then I returned to NYC’s biggest blizzard in a decade. Which canceled soccer for a month. But all is well.
And that’s about it?
I plan on resuming my biweekly posts. Thank you to all whose hearts skipped a beat at my return. And to those who wonder why I bothered returning at all. You are all equal in the eyes of our lord, Dwayne The Rock Johnson. Amen.
